That changed after Game 5. He’s now hitting .205 for his career in the postseason after he came through with two extra-base hits (and two walks) in five plate appearances. The two hits included a monster go-ahead home run in the first inning and a double later in that game.

Just As He Was Getting Hot…

Yet, when Judge finally began to get hot at the plate, he ultimately found another way to ruin his progress.

With the Yankees up 5-0 in the fifth inning and one man on, Judge misplayed a routine line drive from Tommy Edman and committed an error. That put two on base with no outs, eventually leading to a five-run inning for the Dodgers. His mistake was among many factors that led to the Dodgers’ getting back into Game 5 and eventually winning it.

When asked about that blunder, Judge admitted it “will stay with me until I die.”

His miscue was especially disappointing given that his glove was a major point in his favor when it came to bar chats about who was the better player this year: Ohtani or Judge.

Ohtani, for example, joined the 50-50 club as the first player ever to do so. On the other hand, Judge hit a league-best 58 home runs and 144 RBIs while playing the

Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

Boy, can Aaron Judge ever relate to that little idiom right now.

With the entire season now on the line for the Yankees heading into a do-or-die Game 4 of the World Series, Judge has the weight of the entire world on his shoulders. If there is an athlete with more pressure on them right now, I’d like to meet him or her.

The Yankees find themselves in a 0-3 hole and one loss away from an embarrassing sweep to the Dodgers for a plethora of reasons. Chief among them, however, is the fact that they have gotten zero production from their superstar slugger. Their iconic, inspirational leader. Judge may have been the most feared hitter in the game during the regular season, but he’s been anything but when it has really mattered the most.

As such, Judge will enter an absolute must-win Game 4 on Tuesday with the most pressure heaved on his freakishly large shoulders. For should LA get the job done - and it is almost impossible now to predict a situation where they don’t - Judge will absorb the lion’s share of the blame for yet another year without a championship for the Yankees, a storied franchise that expects nothing less than a Wo

The 2024 World Series championship is a battle of the giants. And we don’t mean the Dodgers vs. the Yankees. It’s Shohei Ohtani vs. Aaron Judge for baseball card supremacy in the modern hobby.

As we look at their cheapest base rookie cards, we’re already seeing the impact of Ohtani and Judge racing toward the sport’s ultimate prize.

According to CardLadder, Ohtani’s 2018 Topps Rookie Card #700 (pitching) has increased 95% in the past three months from $100 to $195. In the past two weeks, it has increased 30% from $169 to $219 (PSA 10) as the Dodgers cemented the NL Pennant against the Mets.

Judge’s 2017 Topps Chrome #169 has been up 43% in PSA 10 the past three months (from $126 to $180). In the past two weeks, as the Yankees vanquished the Guardians for the AL crown, the card has been up a whopping 30% (from $140 to $180).

Both are historic figures, with Ohtani being downright Ruthian in his pitching and hitting prowess. And if th

NEW YORK – Former Diamond ‘Dog Aaron Judge is headed to the World Series after the New York Yankees claimed the American League pennant for the 41st time in franchise history. The Yanks will face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Fall Classic for the first time since 1981 in the 12th World Series matchup between the clubs.

The first-round draft pick has started the 2024 Postseason with a .161 average, totaling five hits, a pair of home runs, six RBIs and one stolen base leading up to his first career World Series appearance.

Since his MLB debut in 2016, Judge has joined the Yankees in the Postseason seven times. In Judge’s tenure, the Yankees have advanced to the ALCS in 2017, 2019 and 2022. The 2024 season marks the first time the Yankees will compete in the World Series with Judge on the squad, and the first time the club has made an appearance in the Championship since 2009.

Judge led the Yankees through a 94-68 season with a .322/.458/.701 slash line. The 2022 American League MVP hit 58 home runs in the regular season to lead the MLB and totaled 180 base knocks including 36 dou
