For me personally, I would only use wood floor this dark at a very large home. For smaller homes, I would use lighter, medium tone color so it will provide some contrast and at same time, make the room feel brighter and larger.Click to expand...
Hi Inc - we actually went to see Amelia and the other homes there just to check what kind of contrast we liked. I agree with you - we don't want to go that dark in our home as we wanted a more airy and open look. And since ours is in between the other two homes in the motor court we thought slightly lighter might be better for that open and bright look and feel.

Installation
INSTALLATION OF PROVENZA FLOORS CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE of the hardwood flooring product and assures that all pre-installation requirements outlined here have been satisfied.
Installation is the responsibility of the Owner/Purchaser and Installer. Only an experienced, certified hardwood floor installer should perform your Provenza hardwood floor installation. NWFA Certified Hardwood flooring installers normally provide a period of warranty of their installation work. Installation related failures are not covered by the manufacturer warranty.
For best results, Provenza recommends that its hardwood flooring is installed by a National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) Certified Professional: (nwfa.org)
Preparing for Installation
For aesthetic purposes, hardwood flooring is often laid parallel to the longest wall. However, the Owner/Purchaser, in consultation with the Installer should make the final decision which direction the planks will run before proceeding to installation.
