The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is no stranger to the series' history of side quests. With the latest entry, you can actually upgrade Link's Master Sword - twice! If you've read our Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds review, you recognize that any additional power is handy.
So how do you travel about upgrading your Master Sword? Hidden throughout Lorule are four Master Ores. Find them all, and you can upgrade your weapon with both the Hyrule and Lorule Blacksmiths. It'll price you two Master Ores per upgrade, so you'll definitely demand all four.

You may likeMaster Ore #1 - Sewers
The first Master Ore is found inside Lorule's Sewers. To get there, you'll own to merge through a rift near Hyrule's Sanctuary or Graveyard. Once in Lorule's Graveyard, observe for a large boulder just north of the weathervane. Existence this to reveal the Sewers entrance.

The Hyrule Blacksmith can upgrade the Master Sword if you bring him two chunks of Master Ore. After that, the Lorule Blacksmith can upgrade the sword again if you bring him two chunks of Master Ore. This page explains how to find all four chunks of Master Ore.
List of Locations
There are four total chunks of Master Ore. They can all be found in the following locations of Lorule.
- Thieves' Hideout - When you are escaping with the Thief Girl in the Thieves' Hideout dungeon, you'll reach a southwest room in B3 where there are two switches in the southwest part of the room. Make the girl stand on one of the switches, and talk to her to get her to stay there. Then stand on the other switch to make a big section of the wall go away. Run up and get the rupees along the way, then open the big chest at the end to get Master Ore.
- Lorule Sanctuary - To get this chunk of Master Ore, you need the Titan's Mitt, which you get from the Desert Palace. Go into the Hyrule Sanctuary and go up to the north wall. There is now a warp fissure there. Go into it and you will come out in the Lorule Sanctuary. Go outside
Master Ore Locations
Master Ore is needed to upgrade the Master Sword. Take two pieces of Ore to the Blacksmith in Hyrule to get the first upgrade, then take another two pieces of Ore to the Blacksmith in Lorule to get the strongest Master Sword.
Most of the pieces of Master Ore can be found in Lorule’s dungeons.
Dark Palace
Requirements: Bombs, Merge
Instructions: Go to the top floor of the dungeon and enter the room with the boarded-up windows. Make sure that the platform at the back of the room is lowered so that you can stand on it. Go down and place a Bomb next to the switch at the front of the room. Get onto the platform at the back of the room and hit the switch next to it to reach the ledge above. Merge into the wall on top of the ledge before the Bomb explodes. When the Bomb triggers the switch, a section of the wall rotates. The small room on the other side of the wall contains the Master Ore.
Thieves’ Hideout
Requirements: None
