Jimmy Eat World in Concert
Jimmy Eat World started in 1993 as a punk trio formed by childhood friends Jim Adkins and Zach Lind. After years of hard work in the studio and on the road, the band settled on a poppier sound, hitting the spotlight in 2001 with breakthrough album Bleed American. The album included several successful singles including "The Middle," which reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became an MTV staple. After extensive touring in support of the album, the band returned to the studio for 2004's Futures, which peaked at No. 6 and earned the band another No. 1 single with "Pain." Chase This Light in 2007 and Invented in 2010 would achieve similar success, cementing the band's role as one of the most successful indie acts in the business.
In 2013, Jimmy Eat World celebrated 20 years of independently released records with Damage, their critically-acclaimed eighth studio album. At their live concerts, the band delivers a blast of non-stop energy and enthusiasm, delighting ticket buyers with heavy guitar riffs, boisterously precise drum solos, and three-part vocal harmonies anchored by the familiar croon of frontman Jim Adkins. 2013

Going by singles and album charts and sales, it’s easy to assume that the high point in the career of Jimmy Eat World came with the band’s third album, 2001’s “Bleed American,” and its hit single, “The Middle.”
But singer/guitarist Jim Adkins notes that album sales and chart positions don’t tell the whole story of a band’s career journey. At least that’s the case for Jimmy Eat World, as the band has hit the 30-year mark since Adkins, guitarist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch and drummer Zach Lind formed the band in Mesa.
“‘Bleed American’ gave us a start. It definitely changed things for us,” Adkins observed in a recent phone interview. “But we’re playing bigger shows now to more people than we ever have. Like we’re playing at Red Rocks. We’re playing Central Park. We’re playing at the Greek (in Los Angeles). We couldn’t do any of those, even at the time when ‘The Middle’ was like the top song in the country and we were on ‘Saturday Night Live.’ It’s just started something for us that we’ve been fortunate enough to sort of nurture along and then build from
If you thought 2025 was just another year, Jimmy Eat World is here to prove otherwise. The Arizona alt-rock heroes are back on tour, crisscrossing North America and Europe with a packed schedule that blends sold-out club shows, massive festivals, and some long-overdue returns. The band then weaves through the Southeast, wrapping this leg with a performance at Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach on May 16. Then it’s off to Europe, with back-to-back sold-out shows in Dublin and Cardiff, a coveted mainstage slot at the legendary Download Festival, and appearances in Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany—including three festival per
