Guide To The Item World In Disgaea 6

There are many ways to gain power in Disgaea 6 - and all of them require grinding in one way or another. Thankfully, Disgaea 6 makes grinding not only easy - but fun. The Item World makes a return in the sixth entry, and if you want endless content with a side serving of infinite power, you will want to use it.

Having a powerful sword, or a mighty trinket can really boost your power in combat, but everything can be made more powerful. That Legendary sword that is giving you tens of thousands of stats? What if we told you we could make it give hundreds of thousands - even millions - instead?

What Is The Item World

The Item World is essentially a unique pocket universe that exists inside of every item in the game. This means every weapon, armour piece, amulet, and even stick of gum houses its own universe. You can go into these universes and kill the inhabitants not to only grow more powerful, but to increase the power of your items.

Each world is procedurally generated, and there are an infinite number of floors. Key enemies and floors will spawn every 10 levels, with Item Gods making

Item World and Pupil questions
I'm pretty new to this game, and I have a question about the item world.

How... exactly do you know what items you want to go into the world with? I've just finished Chapter 3, but only barely scraping by, as most of my battles end with Laharl bulldozing through enemies while everyone else acts as fodder, and I'm preeeeeeeeetty sure this isn't how the game was intended to be played.
So I know the Item World is where the real meat and cheese of the game is, but I'm... so baffled as to where to start with it. What items do I go into? The game suggested a little common sword at the start of Chapter 3, which I did, but then what? Is it better to go back into that sword on Floor 11? Does something else happen to it if I keep going deeper in the sword?
And what about armor? You get quite a sizeable roster of characters in Disgaea, is it even worth going into the item world for some of the low level armor?
Heck, you can even go into little healing items like ABC Gum. is that worth it??

I just need a couple hands to point me in the right direction. This game's really fun, but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed.

I'm really just not sure whe

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness/Item World

The item world has two main benefits: first, the item world is where you subdue Specialists, and second, each floor of the item world that you accomplish adds a small amount of power to the item. The item world is also the only place you can find some of the best equipment of the game, there is an early chapter that requires you to go through at least ten levels of the item world, and it is necessary to complete the item world for a Legendary item to get one of the endings of the game.

The item world is essentially a long, randomly generated dungeon. Each level has random topography, and may include islands, some of which may be far out of reach.

Each level will always contain a base panel and a 'Dimensional Warp' which takes you to the next level without completing the current one. Although portions of the item world may be disconnected, the base panel and Dimensional Warp will be connected. (The Dimensional Warp may be too high for any character to jump or be thrown to, or may be otherwise unreachable, but it will always be *connected* to the base panel.) Sitting on top of the Dimensional Warp may be an enemy unit with the exceptional type
