Rend World Buff

Can we please disable the MC requirement for ally characters to get rend? Or just -give- alliance their own rend buff that doesn’t stack? Sun buff methods of acquiring are so stupid and the griefing even more so. Horde already gets the fat dopamine from WF, at least give alliance an equivalent Wbuff. Chain it to the prison escape or confronting Onyxia herself, but this is just goofy, FYI this will be extremely relevant if you do classic+ content unless you just -erase- wbuffs or rend entirely. Which is a bad idea as well, no one likes to feel nerfed and that would be a fat nerf.

Genius. The horde war chief will now buff the enemy faction they’re at war with.

Mind blowing.

Paladins and fear ward, or warchief’s.

You get to choose. The fact people found a way to get it on alliance in the first place is pretty impressive.

I understand alliance want their cake and eat it too, but you can’t have both.

Thread: Classic World Buff Changes

The only 'meta' part that would change is people could 'choose' when to unleash their buffs, but I don't really see that being a huge issue anyways. Most guilds might clear all of the bosses in Naxxaramas, minus like Loatheb, Sapphiron and KT only to come back the next day and grab an additional round of world buffs. You might have some people in such a scenario (if they're good on time), just have healers save world buffs for later, but that's just me spit balling.

Realistically it doesn't change a whole lot besides allowing people to get world buffs when they choose, and potentially playing that character throughout the week. It doesn't force people to get world buffs anymore than it already would. You're either in a guild that forces it, in a guild that doesn't, or you're in a guild that gives incentives for having them. I don't see how any of those would change.

Speaking as a MT when I played Classic, I wanted to help my guild out as much as possible and half of the people in my guild did world buffs, while the other half would be fairly lazy about it. We never forced world buffs and never offered incentives to

I Would love to glimpse alliance have access to the “rend” buff in a more a convenient way.

Currently you can either make a horde priest or engineer on a second account on the same server and mind control your alliance character to get the buff 80% of the time. Alternatively you can use a consciousness control cap with your alliance toon on a guard in the barrens and 20% of the time it will backfire allowing you to get the buff.

Rather than having to proceed through quite ridiculous hoops to get the buff I assess it would awesome if you did what you did for SoD and give alliance a version of the buff. I really want to try out alliance this time round and the thought of having to do this sometimes multiple times a week to compete with my friends on the meters is very off-putting.

Anyone have any thoughts about why this could be a bad thing?

World of RENDcraft Killing Era!

Dark clouds are gathering over the WoW Era servers. The introduction of Anniversary realms has taken many of our friends and raid mates away from the Classic Era community—an unexpected and unannounced blow. This is a hit we, as Era players, have had to accept. Some players prefer fresh realms, and while they can enjoy their game, we should still be able to enjoy ours. Or can we?

Vanilla WoW has always revolved around world buffs, particularly for competitive play. World records rely on them, and for many, the game doesn’t feel complete without them. However, with the shrinking player base, obtaining world buffs—especially Warchief’s Blessing—has become increasingly frustrating. This buff is notoriously difficult to obtain even under ideal circumstances: players need a second account with a mind-controlling character, precise timing to catch a brief 20-second window, and luck to avoid the dreaded backfire.

Now, with the Horde population on Era servers dwindling, obtaining Warchief’s Blessing is no longer just tough—it’s an enormous time sink, requiring players to spend hours e

There are a few problems.

Players auto-AFK and are automatically logged out if inactive long enough. Using a bot to bypass this is against ToS.

Even though there is an 8-hour cooldown, the buff is always triggered by a player. There is no set schedule, so you will always have to have someone see the previous round happen in order to predict when it can happen again.

I hear the realm discord servers have people announcing and even planning ahead for when they set off a buff.
