Stump Of The World Tomato

–Price range: $3.00 through $4.00

With great sadness and expectations for the future I am listing this awesome tomato. In 2021 we, the tomato growing community, lost one of our very best friends. Her name is Remy Rotella and she was an avid grower. Remy loved growing everything good, but among her biggest passions was tomatoes. I was fortunate to meet her on a few occasions at the Noblesville Indiana Seed Swapping event, for which she had traveled many hours from NY to attend here in Indiana. We had some conversations, but I often wished that I had talked to her some more. I remember swapping seeds with her and will hold those memories dear, always! Remy’s favorite tomato was Stomp Of The World. So in 2021, a bunch of us, her friends and acquaintances in the tomato community, got together and decided to grow it in her memory. I wouldn’t describe this tomato except to say that if Remy loved it, then it must have been a good one. I love it too! I am offering these seeds in remembrance of our friend Remy. We love you and may you always fly high and rest in peace, friend!

STUMP OF THE WORLD. A mid-season, tall, and very productive tomato variety with the characteristic “potato-leaf” foliage. It is considered one of the best heirloom family varieties, time-tested and highly appreciated by collectors and tomato enthusiasts. Plants are strong and vigorous, reaching about 2 meters in height in open ground, and require staking and pruning. This variety is highly productive, forming large clusters with massive fruits.

Fruits are large, flat-round, deep pink in color, weighing up to 600 g, with some of the first fruits often even larger. The flesh is very meaty, juicy, with minimal seeds and small seed size. This makes the variety excellent for fresh consumption, salads, juices, and sauces. The flavor deserves special mention: sweet with a delicate harmonious acidity, but predominantly sweet. The aroma is rich, pleasant, and authentically “tomato-like.”

According to gardeners’ reviews, the taste rivals the legendary Brandywine, and many consider it one of the best among pink large-fruited tomatoes. The variety is stable and reliable: even in unfavorable seasons — cold, rainy, or extremely dry, a

What a tasty tomato!

Last year we got a really late start on tomatoes and stump of the world gave us our first ripe tomato, large enough to slice for a sandwich.

It’s on my “grow every year” list.

We have about nine tomatoes on it right now and more blossoms coming in and I’ve taken at least four off of it.

If you look at the picture of it, the height of it is the growth on the right top, the growth on the left is the plant next to it.

It’s a winner in my book.

I will have to load the pictures later. I can’t get them to load right now.

Indeed! Stump is my absolute #1 which I must grow every year. This year I was sloppy with my grafting and all the Stumps failed but I planted some non-grafted ones anyways … its too good to pass up.

Speaking of this tomato there are a few ripe ones, I’m going to go harvest them now…

I grew Stump a couple years (own roots) and was a big hit. Did you have disease issues on its own roots?
