Shooters world blackout

Shooters World Powder

Shooters World Blackout is a very good powder, very similar to 1680. Burns a little cleaner, a little faster so you use a little less for subs, higher velocity with supers. If you’re working up a load, starting data for 1680 is fine.

As far as comparing the three powders, assuming your still talking suppressed subs. My criteria may not be yours.

It needs to cycle the action,

It needs to be quiet, this is hard to explain until you have shot suppressed some. As I said before, most people first shots suppressed, using factory ammo in a gas gun are pretty disappointed at the results. The powder makes all the difference.

It needs to be clean. Shooting suppressed is dirty. Adding a powder that takes a higher volume and burns a lower percentage, just make shooting miserable. More so if you happen to shoot indoor. Some smokeless powders seem to rival black powder when you suppress them. Except all the smoke come out the action instead of the muzzle.

It needs to produce low ES/SD numbers. MOA at even 50 yards is tough with an ES of 50 and 200 grain bulge at 1000 fps.

CFE BLK.
Worst of the bunch. Of all the qualities listed, the only one it really has,

Blackout

Blackout Propellant

Ballistic results for this propellant show it appropriate for both pistol and rifle cartridges that incorporate a near straight-walled cartridge case. The propellant gas generation rate is appropriate for .300 Blackout, 7.62×39, .30-30, .22 Hornet, as well as many straight-walled large pistol and rifle cartridges where rapid transformation from powder to gas is desired. It is similar in burn speed to Accurate 1680®.

A spherical propellant, it meters through charge plates consistently and will flow adequately in a high-speed loader. It contains a level of flash suppression, incorporated into the propellant.

Ballistic load data using SAAMI examine methods and standards for Blackout is available at www.shootersworldsc.com

This propellant is a canister form of Lovex D063 reloading propellant.

Ballistic load data using European CIP check methods and standards for D063 propellant is available here.

As with any propellant and load combination, a minor change to any of the components of the test load CAN result in significant shift in ballistic recital. This shift can cause unintended high pressures, and result in injury or death. Therefore, Shooters

It works great. I have shot a few lbs of subs with it. I actually like it better than CFE BLK.

Edit: I have not used it for light supers. I would think a few other powders might give superior results in that area.

None the less I plan to buy more of this powder when the opportunity arises, but mainly for subs.

For a 190gr bullet in 300blk this blackout powder works extremely good.

On using the Blackout/shooters world on 110's high Vel. loads . I don't really think it going to workout for me .
It might be really good on the heavy Sub,Vel loads . Or High Vel. on some of the heavier bullets .
From some of the #'s I got today, ( running 19.0 to 20.5 grain ) . I think I will only use for subsonic and the heavies . I got a couple big box's of the Missouri coated heavies to burnup anyway, so will just use this couple Lb's shooters world powder on them .

16-inch Barrel .. 1-8 twist 5R on the boltaction .
I ran some rounds over the Doppler today . Even with ( 20.5 Grain ) and starting to compress . I was only getting 2077 fps Vel.
So I am still way off from 2400 fps, not even near what I was looking for for

This propellant is optimized for a broad range of heavy bullets for .300 Blackout, subsonic. Especially appropriate for 200+ grain bullets, the combination of charge weight, geometry and chemistry provide assurances of cycling in AR platforms.

Despite its optimization for heavy bullets, it can launch lighter supersonic bullets in the .300 Blackout. However, loaders generally find superior results with supersonic projectiles, using SOCOM.

A spherical propellant, it meters through charge plates consistently and will flow well in a high-speed loader. It contains a level of flash suppression, incorporated into the propellant. Another advantage to Shooters World propellants is the long track record of these propellants. Our manufacturer has been makin

Safety concerns, no, you will just give up some performance and consistency.
Giving up some velocity compared to other powders, yeah. Consistency, maybe. And, by that I mean it depends on your standards. Match grade SD in single digits, probably not. Good enough for most things, probably.

Whether or not case fill % is going to be an issue or not depends on several variables but not getting the case as full as you can isn't always a problem.

and consistency?? Consider this, shooting from an AR, with its fast feed and sudden stop when chambered, the powder will tend to be shifted to the front of the case fairly consistently.
