How to upload a save to your Enshrouded Server

Preparing Your Save Game

The first step involves locating and preparing your Enshrouded save files on your computer. These files encapsulate the progress, structures, and intricate details of your world, making them essential for a seamless transition to server play.

      Introduction​

      In this guide, we will explore how to manage your Enshrouded Gamesaves on your game server, including backing up your local and server savegames as well as uploading it to your server.

      Preparation​

      In order to access your server files, you will require an FTP Client such as WinSCP or FileZilla which are both open-source and free to download.

      You will have to connect to your server through an FTP Client using the credentials that are found under Tools->FTP-Broswer on your game server's webinterface. Please use our Access via FTP guide as further assistance to connect to your server.

      Backup Savegame​

      Local Savegame​

      Local Savegames are ones which you have created whilst hosting a multiplayer game locally on your device. By default, Enshrouded uses Steam Cloud to automatically back up your Savegame. In order to access this, you will have to go into your steam userdata folder to access the game data. Top over to the following path:

      How to Transfer/Upload Your Enshrouded World Save

      If you want to upload your existing Enshrouded world save to your server, follow these simple steps to ensure a seamless transfer.

      Step 1: Locate Your World Save Files

      1. On your local computer, navigate to the directory where Enshrouded stores your world saves. By default, this location is:

      Step 2: Compress Your Save Folder

      1. Right-click on the save folder you want to upload.

      2. Select Compress or Send to Zip File (depending on your operating system).

      3. Name the resulting file appropriately for easy identification (e.g., ).

      Step 3: Log in to Your Server Panel

      1. Go to your server hosting panel at panel.bananaservers.ca and log in.

        The save files for Enshrouded can be stored in two different paths. The location depends on whether you are saving the game with Steam Cloud or not.

        The character save file is named "characters"

        If you save your game via Steam Cloud, you can find your character and map files at the following address in Explorer:

        C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOURSTEAMID\1203620\remote\

        You can find "YOURSTEAMID" in your Steam settings. Your friend code is "YOURSTEAMID"
